Dr Kristen Nowak, PhD is Director, Office of Population Health and Genomics, Western Australian (WA) Department of Health, and has a health genomics and rare disease research background. Her policy office aids translation of evidence-based genomic and screening technology and knowledge into health systems. Her team led the development and is now leading the implementation of the WA Genomics Strategy 2022-2032: Towards Precision Medicine and Precision Public Health. Kristen is also an investigator on multiple genomics, screening, Indigenous genomics and rare disease research grants, and has adjunct positions at the Harry Perkins Institute for Medical Research and The University of Western Australia. Nationally, Kristen was a member of the previous Standing Committee on Screening, and is currently a member of the Newborn Bloodspot Screening Program Management Committee (previously Chair) and the Health Technology and Genomics Collaboration.
